Sipi Falls Coffee, named after the picturesque Sipi Falls on Mount Elgon in Eastern Uganda, is known for its 'Bugisu' Arabica, a premier Ugandan variety. This organically certified coffee is part of the Sipi Falls Coffee Project, initiated in 1999. The project encompasses over 5,000 smallholder producers across 2,000 hectares, impacting 3.5 million families. It promotes sustainable practices such as intercropping with food crops and shade trees and provides training on climate change, agricultural methods, and organic standards. Grown on the slopes of the Elgon mountain range at altitudes from 1,300 to 1,900 meters, Sipi Falls Coffee is both a vital income source and a cornerstone of Uganda's economy.
