Elias Juan Pablo is a medium-scale farmer from the Yalanjuluj village in northern Guatemala, on the highest non-volcanic mountain range in Central America. Previously his farm had been covered with only native trees, not productive but with rich soil and growing conditions. He started with planting less than half a hectare to experiment, evaluating his process to guarantee he was doing things right. To this day he says coffee is continuously teaching him something new. Elias Juan Pablo's farm Finca San Martín is not only his heritage, it is a source of employment for the community and his family.
